Interview: Cornell Law Prof Annelise Riles on Fukushima, ‘data politics’, North-East Asia tensions

I recently interviewed Annelise Riles, Professor of Far East Legal Studies and Professor in the Department of Anthropology at Cornell University. Prof. Riles discussed her experience in Tokyo in the aftermath of the Fukushima disaster, the rise of ‘data politics’, the Meridian 180 project and the state of dialogue in North-East Asia.

Prof. Riles was in London to speak at the Transnational Law Institute at King’s. A video of her lecture, ‘From Comparison to Collaboration: Experiments with a New Scholarly and Political Form’ is online here.
