It was great to participate last week in the 16thAnnual Colloquium of the International Union for the Conservation of Nature’s (IUCN) Academy of Environmental Law, hosted at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, Scotland. The colloquium theme, ‘The Transformation of Environmental Law and Governance: Innovation, Risk and Resilience’, invited a focus on the intersection between developments in technology and law. During a session on ‘Technology and Innovation: New Horizons in Climate Mitigation’, I presented on the role of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change’s (UNFCCC) Technology Executive Committee (TEC) in furthering technology development and transfer under the Climate Convention and the Paris Agreement.

The conference was a great success and a tribute to the IUCN, the University of Strathclyde and the wonderful city of Glasgow,
