The UNFCCC Technology Executive Committee convened virtually last month for its 2nd meeting of the year. Among other things, the TEC made progress on our joint activities with the Climate Technology Centre and Network, including the soon-to-be-published paper on technology and Nationally Determined Contributions, provided recommendations and key message to the Paris Agreement and Climate Convention parties meeting soon in Glasgow, and hosted a webinar on technology for adaptation in ocean and coastal areas. I was particularly pleased that we were able to confirm that in 2021 the TEC achieved gender balance in its events for the first time in its history, with more women participating than men. A summary of the meeting is provided by the UNFCCC newsroom. More information is available here.
